Gotcha. It's nothing fancy. 10 taco with a spacer lift for now. Scs f5 wheels with 265/75/16 duratracs. And trd supercharger. Avid bumper guard and light bar

Bump to keep this thread going. Their website doesn't contain as much information as i want to know.

So far I like it, works good and fast to tune and change maps...
With more timing the part throttle driving is way better and at 3000 RPM it really pulls hard...
Still is a little flat around 2300 I think it's the cam timing, still working on it...

Running reformulated 87 octane winter gas, now that I can run more timing it might run better with premium.
Right now I'm running 13 degrees at low load and 8 degrees at higher load..
With 87 crap gas that's about the limit.... 10 and 15 was too much timing and going to 7 starts to loose power but seams safer...
Still have to data log to watch the timing retard...

    Now some bad....
The bad news is I may be over the allowed range by the computer and I have a cam sensor code that won't go away and comes back on...
I did have a bad sensor on my last off roading trip and I never ran the code so it could be bad but the truck drives fine so I think I have to back down the timing to get rid of the code...
And the code started after I bumped up the timing...
You can only trick the computer up to the allowed max limit before you get a code, this sucks because you can run more timing at low load to get better throttle response, MPG and power..
At high load I think 8 degrees should be in the allowed limit.... Still working on it...
So I will have to give up a little drivability to get rid of the code....
This sucks because part throttle is soooo much better now...

Good news is my power map really runs good the extra timing really smooths out the engine and more consistent even power... Much easier to spin the 32s....
Still need to do some 0-60s.... Hopefully a few more tenths with the extra timing....

What about your AFR's I skimmed through, so I might have missed it. Are you able to see what they are, either real time or through datalog?

I have the unichip (pre-programmed by unichip) for my CAI and exhaust. There is no doubt the increased performance and acceleration.

I was using dash command with the maf cal... The unichip is tricking the computer so I think it messes up the signal under acceleration...
So I'm watching the trims for now.... Under acceleration it shows 12-1 like I had before but I'm not sure how accurate a reading I'm getting...
It still shows 14.5 at crusing speed but the unichip can hide the real reading...
So I have to figure out if it is changing the F/A ratio at cruising speed, I think it is but I have to verify it...
Unichip is very secretive so I don't know how much they will help in tuning. They want you to use a tuning dealer...

They have a data logger I have to try yet to see what readings I get...
On my FRS the I have the ECU TEC re flash program and the data logger is great, makes tuning fast....

If the dash commander is reading off of the OBDII port, it won't show any richer than 12:1.

You should be using a wide band gauge.

So I backed down the low load timing to 10 degrees and no more engine light...
A little weaker at part throttle but OK...
And at high load 8 degrees is about max anyway on my truck...
So there is a limit to the total timing and fuel adjustment..

There is also a map for the TPS that will adjust map load and add more fuel quicker like the maf cal...
There is also an adjustment to add fuel under acceleration after quick throttle movements...

So the check engine light is still coming on I'll have to reduce the timing some more...
Not a lot of testing with the snow....
I like having 2 maps. Power map really rocks... But eats gas like crazy... that 4.0 loves gas but pulls so much better...
I'll just load up some new maps this weekend....

The ck engine light is aggravating, might be the reason UC says not not to tune for closed loop driving...
It kind of defeats the propose if it can only be used for open loop....
Doesn't seam to go into safe mode with the light on it's just a pain that it's on....

MPG still sucks with my MPG map but better than the power map...

So far I've been cheating on the fuel side and running the maf cal with the unichip...
Didn't know if it would work, but it works good...
I'm going to have to 0 out the maf cal so I can build 2 separate maps....
Hopefully the tps map can replace the maf cal completely so I can get the mpg back up and keep the power in my power map...

cam position sensor, from advancing the timing too much.... One of the problems is you have to stay within the computers max parameters...

So I loaded up a new map, I'll try ramping up the timing a little slower....

Yeah still N/A, I have the intake spacer , KN filter(no silencer) urd maf cal and 2 1/2" cat back.... and now the unichip...

Now I just need a way to adjust the cams I think cam timing is off below 3000 rpm, for egr crap....

For the 4.0 the toyota computer is the biggest restriction to maximizing power, the rest is easy to fix....

What is the data used on Y-axis? I heard from a tuner that they normaly work with the MAF readings (g/s) to tune the timing.

It's probably not the timing map but the map of the values used to trick the sensors (corrections applied to 0-5V signals).

You can use the fuel map to correct your AFR in open loop and you can probably use one of the option map to trick the OEM AFR sensor in closed loop.
