They come with a "pre-tuned" map. If it doesn't work right, or needs improvement, you have to find an authorized tuner. They usually charge a $250 flat rate minimum.

There was a few people here who has already tried them and its hit and miss for it working right when it comes to your door. Performance wise you might feel a bit of a gain but I can't quite remember what the others said

My actually experience is I had a friend order it for his scion FRS and he already had to ship it back because of the connections being on the edge of fitting and it was giving him a check engine light when it was plugged in.

    Good luck with your choice!

I had one on my '04 SC Tundra and loved it. I did have it mapped for my truck at an authorized tuner. (3 different maps) I think I paid around $250 for the mapping but it also came with a full before and after dyno. Much better throttle power response. In fact in the rain I had to keep it on one of the more mellow maps because it was too easy to free up the rear end leaving a stoplight. Even though I had a canopy, more weight in the back and better tires would have helped. I also saw a 2-3 mpg increase after the unichip when I could resist the heavy pedal on the onramps. The Map that I drove with most of the time gave me incredible acceleration in the 2500-3500 rpm range so passing 50-70mph was a blast.

The only negative I ever saw was I always pulled it off before going in for any kind of warranty work(brakes and driveline TSBs). I don't think it would have been an issue but I didn't want the dealer to give me a hard time about it.

ur better off with the URD maf calibrator

    URDusa.com

I think Marcel had a uni and it was a flop, but I could be wrong.

keep in mind, they (urd) tend to LEAN the trucks fuel some......If ur in an area with many steep grades/elevation changes, I would think twice.

I did have pinging with 1.

I did, as well as Novanut. Both were fails for us. It all come down to support since it isn't open source.

If you don't have any support for it around you, and it doesn't work properly, then you are SOL.

^^^Yup! It leaned out to A/F way to much. I have no authorized dealer even close to me. So only other option they have is a rental tuning kit you can purchase for x amount a week. Then find someone who is willing to use there software to tune there product. Needless to say mine is still collecting dust in the corner of my bedroom.
