That's why it would be an off-road toy and not a daily driver!

But they might make a good canvas for a project . A bit underpowered but not terrible vehicles. I didn't live in one but did go through the driver's course and drive one aruond Turkey for a while.

    Fair enough...

Mogs, on the other hand, are excellent vehicles!

You can title and drive anything here. Guy down the street from the shop drives a street legal Polaris razor. Pretty laid back here

Yes but they would only make 1 model per year and if you didn’t like the options, wait until next year.

Polaris Razor? I'm picturing either a side-by-side or one of those three-wheeled motorcycle things with two wheels in front...

    Holy shit!

Though Mississippi still requires safety inspections, correct? I read somewhere that they did...

Yes, north of a decade beating the ever living shit out of them. On and off road, including true cross country driving in every climate you can think of.

I have means, space, yet no desire to own one.

There is a reason we had 9 mechanics to keep our trucks running.

They are like a Ferrari, if you don't drive the shit out of them, they break down.... a lot.

Ferraris and Lamborghinis tend to break down a lot even if you drive the shit out of them...

I read a story about a guy who saved up his money and paid cash for a used, low-mileage Lamborghini Gallardo. He drove it all over the country and put over 100K on it. The engine just quit, and of course he couldn't afford to get fix it...

    So does the HMMWV.

I have destroyed every part of the drivetrain in one at some point.

thats a mule. you can flip the steering wheel and walk next to it load and steer it. theres a shop in berkeley the owner has one. he drove one in vietnam with a 106mm recoilless rifle on it. took him years to find one and restore it.

    Re: Military hummers.

I'm not 100% certain, but the military has sold surplus Hummers for years. If you were fortunate to get one several years ago I'm pretty sure they could all be titled and legally driven on the street regardless of where you lived. But now that they are phasing them out and replacing them with this.

    https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2015/08/meet-the-humvees-replacement-oshkoshs-l-atv/

The Hummers now being sold will not be street legal. Would be great for farm or ranch work
