    Hey guys

It's time for me to transfer to a 4 year college and I am seriously considering the UH Manoa as a business major. Any members go here? Want to share insight? It's going to be a big move for me. How would I transport my car there.

Shidler College of Business at the University of Manoa. They have lots of really good programs to choose from and also different types of choices you can double major in or minor in. The only thing is since you are not a resident you would have to pay a lot and also find housing or dorm for the first couple of years. You can actually start by looking up the programs (see link above) and see if you like what you see then call and ask about housing. They just renovated most of the dorms and build news ones so your lucky.

Matson can ship cars for about $1,000 -1,200. I believe since my coworker just shipped her E350 benz to Hawaii from WA, Seattle. I'm not sure if your still allowed to pack all your crap in your truck and then send it though.

    Hope this helps

MrGrimm shipped his car over, maybe ask him what is the best method. Hawaii is awesome but expensive for a lot of things.

Depends though where you want to live. Some studios ( meaning BASIC room/toilet/mini kitchen ) go for $800 -1000 the closer the studio is to University of Hawaii the more expensive it is.

Most people grab roommates and split it 3 ways or 2 ways just to be able to afford living in Hawaii.

Out of state colleges are 2x as much tuition-wise as in state colleges.

the shilder business school is pretty good, UH in general is pretty good, but it does have it's quirks.

finding parking within a 5 mile radius is hella fun. you can either pay $4 or try and find street parking, which is always an adventure.

are you planning to dorm? the dorms are pretty good, they just renovated the freshman ones as well as another, air conditioned dorm, frear hall. if you do plan to dorm i'd recommend wainani its a bit older than the other dorms but you can get pretty much a full apartment.

and for shipping horizon lines is good i think it runs around a grand as well.

oh yah and tuition is gonna be a bit much cause your out of state, but compared to alot of other universities' out of state tuition it's quite reasonable. i know some states have the WUE (western undergraduate something) that will let you pay pretty close to in state tuition.

the one thing about UH though is class availability can be be limited, depending on what courses your taking and your major. the higher level stuff isn't too hard to get spots in, but for the 100 level stuff it can be a challenge to find spots.

id say go for it ive been there for 3 years now, really enjoy it and you can't beat living here!
