    Hello All,
New Tacoma owner here. Just bought a 2008 TRD Off Road for help around our 9 acre property in Northern CA and also some weekend fun. I have a question about taking the canoe to the lake. The truck came with some sort of rail system (see attached picture). There are four what look like mounting points on the rails, two each side. I can't find anything that looks like this online. Is this a mounting point for a rack type system that could hold a canoe over the bed and cab to take to the lake? Apologies if I'm using the wrong terms, I'm new to Tacomas and trucks in general. Thanks in advance!

They look kind of like these, which are Yakima landing pad 1's. Maybe someone with the exact one's can chime in.

Probably Yakima or Thule Mount for a tower and cross bars.

My Rhino rack has similar mounts.

OP, can I see more photos of those rails? and does anyone know what rails those are? I am searching for bed rails I can use with my tonneau cover. Only ones I have seen are KB and Billy.

I am in the process of putting together a system that will include a tonneau (Bak Revolver X4s), a set of tracks (Truxedo Elevate TS rails), and a rack (either Yakima Overhaul HD or Truxedo Elevate). The tonneau and rails should be here next week. I definitely prefer the Yakima rack, appearance wise. From what I can research, this appears to be the best option for what I’m trying to do. Truxedo does not claim the TS rails fit the Tacoma, but there are several videos showing it can be done, and my dealer says he has done several with no issues. Any thoughts?

So, a quick follow up, the RevolverX4S (which is an awesome looking cover) will not work with the Elevate rails. The S-clips that attach the tonneau rails to the truck do not have much clearance. I could not align them properly with the Elevate rails in place. I guess I’ll be looking into the Rhino Rails option…
