Unknown gizzmo

What is this? Inside cab it is top right of windshield. Outside it looks like some kind of sensor but I couldn’t find it in the manual.

 

goPro mount? Can't tell, it's out of focus and dark

Not the go pro mount. The go pro mount is to the left of this.

 

Yeah I think it is the GoPro mount. However, it does read that on the mount so should be obvious

It looks like a tolling transponder. Did you buy your Taco used? If so, it might be leftover from the previous owner.

 

If it has "GoPro" written on it, that might be your first tip.

If it's something else, it's some sort of transponder. Toll road, et al.

 

It’s a brand new 2018 TRD sport. The little black box has a transparent line on each side going horizontally about 5” each side. Plus the auto high beam detector is on the dash.

 

Would you mind submitting a clearer picture when you have time? Sun visor is in the way.

 

Radar for automatic cruise control?

 

Not great pic, but looks too far to passenger side for GoPro - not GoPro, then ??? - ask dealer what they put on there.

I'm not an "18" guy, but I'm pretty sure Toyota did not put that there. I'd ask the dealer.

That would be the LoJack device that is optional from Toyota? I may have seen this on several at the dealership, but I could be wrong.

 

That's not standard. Did you say no to any dealership add ons?

 

I wonder if I could retrofit one of these government spy devices to my '17.
