Not sure what this light does, I’m able to push it in and it then lights up red when pushed in.
Was looking to replace my gauge cluster bezel because its cracked and broken. Upon receiving the new (used) bezel, I realize there’s no cut out for this unknown light.
Anyone have any ideas as to what my random light might do?

I saw one other post like this, but their light was put in place of the “rear differential lock”

    Its definitely not factory.
Have you ever noticed it turn on or off? Might have to trace back the wires

Thanks for the responses everyone!! Sorry for not getting back in a timely matter. It is indeed an alarm system. I thought it was a dummy until I disconnected my battery to do something, upon reconnecting it, the alarm decided to do its job and go off. Didn’t let me turn over my truck because I don’t have the original keys to lock/unlock the truck. Only the ignition key (which I’m 98% sure isn’t original) so I had to put my truck in valet mode to start it up. Gunna have to scour this forum to see about reprogramming it or just removing it

Did you look around for a small black disarm pushbutton, may be down by the kick panel?

When you hook up the battery, you then have to push the button in and out a few times to turn the alarm off. I never remember what the correct sequence is but I just mess with it until it goes off. I do not remember if the key has to be in the ignition or not. I believe it does but not sure. My 02 key is just a dumb key so there is nothing for the alarm system to see. and my fob is long gone.

Why remove it? If it's like the later version of Toyota's security system it's a good system, requiring a chip in your key to activate the starting system and has glass break alarm activation. without if a screwdriver is all that needed to steal the truck.

It's 25 years old. there are no parts for it, none nada zilch. Had mine removed because it was a absolute irritant.
