Well after driving around for close to an hour, I have yet been able to video the noise where you can actually hear it. I am gonna try to get one eventually...But as I have said, The noise happens when the truck is first started and when going over bumps, but its not consistent. Also when it does happen I can feel it through the gas pedal.

Kinda bringing this one back from the dead but did you ever figure out what the issue was?

What you're describing sounds exactly like what my truck is doing. I have about the same amount of play in my front driverside axel (about 1/4-5/8"). The only thing that i can think of that would make sense is that the axle is sliding back into the diff when the suspension moves up and then pops back out when it moves back down. I have a 3" lift on mine and only really started to notice it after I took off my sway bar.

I personally did not find the source of this problem. I had my whole frame replaced prior to starting this thread and had to take it back for this issue along with a couple others. I believe the replaced my tie rods as well as my steering column and somewhere it solved the problem..I'm not 100% sure on that tho..my only suggestion would be to go over everything in the front end and check for wear..sorry I couldn't help any more..if you do end up finding the source of your problem feel free to post back in here for anyone else that might need the advice in the future!
