Going up hills recently noticed when I get up to 3500 rpm start hearing a whistling sound with almost a rattle with it.

Checked exhaust everything is tight and heat shield seem good.

Checked air box all is good.

Seemed like a slight power loss on hills as well

    What the hell?

Just a Snug Top with Sportsman’s package 1 inch lift and 265/75-16 Duratracs.
Maybe a PCV issue or too much crankcase vacuum.

What gear were you in? I am going to assume automatic transmission.

Would that throw a code? I have no engine light as of now.

    How can I check this?

The nanny devices on this truck will cut power at higher rpms in lower gears.
Try it in 4th and report back

Will do. Just started happening over the past couple of days. Truck always seemed to shift fine.

Could still be a issue, I would just try to replicate it in all gear choices you have, before taking it in to the dealer or whatever.

I notice a whistling from the engine with the A/C on around 2500-3500 RPM. If I turn the A/C off it goes away. Doesn’t seem to matter what gear or speed.

There is also a whistling sound that comes from holes in the LCA's, there was a tsb a couple of years ago to put plugs in those holes.

Did you lift the front end or remove the air dam?

I doubt that is the problem, never know but I really doubt it if you didn't lift the truck or remove the lower air dam.

Known noise from trd intake. Across all Toyota platforms. Tundra, 4runner, FJ, Tacoma. You get used to it.
