Ours will bounce off the rev limiter, but cut power at about 5k rpm.

You need to bang the rev limiter once a month.

    'Italian tuneup'

Prove you have a fully functional ECU

Scare the beejeebers out of a passenger with the noise it will make

    No issues for the truck

Yep. My dad always told me that its the best way to clean out the engine. Ive been doing that on all my vehicles and they all ran great.

might try at least 89 octane. 87 runs like garbage in these trucks.

Well the fact is that my truck always ran great and now unfortunately there is a negative change in power.

So its not like I just bought the truck and Im bitching about the power or lack there of.

Chex the obvious first, you tried gas, all good, how about air, check for restrictions or kinks, air filter itself? Spark seems fine as it runs, but what about the engine control unit, starting to crap out? I dunno.

Might want to crawl under it and have a look at your exhaust system.

Thats your opinion, mine runs great on it....all the toyotas i've had run fine on 87. Maybe it depends where your located. I've filled up on trips in the upper mid west where the fuel at times was garbage. Here in southern new england i've never had an issue.
