I just bought my first Tacoma and need some help!

I found this wire (obviously aftermarket product)coming from under the temperature controls. It is a plug that would normally go into an ipod or headphone jack but I couldn't get it to work with the radio.

So I decided to pull the stereo to see how it was hooked up, and found... NOTHING. It hooks into these wires (red and white)below the cup holder.

Any ideas?! I couldn't keep following the wiring without losing half my day so thought I would ask first.

Also, i dont have pics of it, but there is a cable coming from under the upholstery between the rear-view mirror and over head reading lights. It has a plug on it that looks lake a telephone or cat-5 plug. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Is it a normal stock HU? Or aftermarket? I know for people they can push a certain button on the stock HU and it will allow them to play with there ipod.

For the other wire My first guess since there is no pics would possibly be a scangauge? Or even one of those radars for cops

The head unit is stock. I tried pushing every button i could think of to get an ipod to play through speakers but to no avail. That is when i pulled the head unit and count find any aftermarket wiring to it.. Thanks for the replies. Any other thoughts?

I think the truck might of had a GPS radio and before selling the truck owner pulled unit, left the wiring and reinstalled original radio. Maybe??
