Actually not as bad as I would have imagined though, just sucks to make people wait for me to unlock the doors every time

Once again a group of slackers decide to not contribute to someone trying to solve a problem but just waste everyone else's time with their unproductive comments such as, "is it really that hard to press the button twice" and "just take the doors off"..
Similar to someone making fun of others in a classroom when asking a relevant question, grow up.

Anyway, if anyone has anything PRODUCTIVE to contribute to this post regarding a possible solution to: All doors unlocking on single button press then please reply to this post. Again, I am in my truck 7+ hours per day and don't always remember to hit unlock twice b/c I typically don't need to access the passenger side bit when I do, it would be a lot less annoying if it would have just unlocked with the driver's side.

Any actual 'Help' on this topic is appreciated.

You could have pushed the button twice in a lot less time than it took to write that out

    Just sayin

It's an internet forum, loosen up man. This thread is over 3 years old and there are relevant posts referencing an aftermarket product to get the function you desire.

I like having the option. The way i think of it, if I'm in a sketchy area all by myself I will only press the button once so only my driver door will open. If burglar wants to open the passenger door, having it being locked may give me that extra split second to get away.

Imo with my truck having that "safety feature" I see it as not being a problem to press the button twice to unlock the passenger door.

I like how you called us a "group of slackers" but, you cannot take literally a fraction of a nano second and use the smallest amount of thumb strength to press your FOB twice!!!! HA! Classic!!!!

I guess I see his point, why don't you guys just try to help? I know it's not as fun as trolling the shit out of him, but there has to be a way, and I would do it :anonymous:

It could probably be accomplished by rewiring the passenger side door to the driver's side door so instead of getting a second signal to unlock, it would activate when you unlock the driver's side door. That would also leave the rear doors so you'd have to push the fob twice to unlock them (if you have rear doors). This is at least how I'd go about doing it if I were so inclined.

Wouldn't go that far to do it, but if It was as simple as opening windows, doors, honking the horn, and clicking your heals together while eating ice cream in mid air, I'd give it a try.

It wouldn't be too bad, just 2 wires running from door to door unless there is something weird with the ECU that I'm not aware of. I'd poke around with a test light before messing with any of the wiring. To me, it'd be easier than trying to reprogram the ECU and would be 100% reversible.

I guess your overall sense of humor and maturity level comes into play with that one...
I might have found it funny back in middle school/high school but ...
