I have had an issue that has happen several times with my 2017 Tacoma. It has only been noticed when it is parked at my house in the garage. The truck will lock or unlock (I hear the beeps from the truck) without me or anyone else touching the fob. I have two fobs and they are about 30 feet away from the vehicle when this happens. I have only noticed this while it is parked inside my garage. I usually don't lock the vehicle when I park it in the garage. And when this happens it occurs two or three times in a 5 or 10 minute period. Anyone else have this issue or know what could be causing it? Thanks.

I know this sounds weird but do you have any LED screw-in type bulbs in the garage door opener or ceiling lights? I ask because I had two in my garage door motor unit, the kind that look like normal light bulbs but they're LED.

They severely interfered with my ability to use my remote garage door opener and key FOB. As soon as I went back to compact fluorescent both problems went away. Just something that crossed my mind when I read this and you said it's in a garage.

My garage door opener specifically mentions NOT using LED's in the manual.

I wouldn't be surprised if mine does too, I don't know. I installed it years ago and just popped some bulbs when while I was upgrading the rest of the lights in my house and then I started noticing the problems so I took them out.

That’s just weird. Could the key fob have moisture in it?

I've noticed while washing the truck around the drivers side handle, fob in my pocket, the truck will lock and unlock as that area gets wet.
    Anyone else experience that?

Yep that’s normal too and might be related. Maybe something in that smart door handle is getting wet and shorting.

Brings to mind high pressure washing. I don’t like the idea of it and won’t allow the guys at these car washes to use them on my vehicles. It pushes water in places it wouldn’t normally be able to go.

My 2020 SR5, key fob and key start Tacoma keeps unlocking itself during the night. I lock it everytime I get out of the truck and go inside. I've been extra careful not to bump the fob after the first few times I noticed it. I'll go to unlock it in the morning and it's not locked. Disturbing and annoying problem. Anyone find a fix for this yet?

Hmmmmmm. So I could construct a battery operated LED light bulb and take it for a stroll in the mall parking lot?

I had a Ram 1500 at work that would lock, unlock, and roll windows down randomly. This is what it wound up being. I disassembled the fob, blew it out with compressed air, let it sit outside in direct sunlight for a few hours on a hot day, then reassembled. No more issues.
