I am currently having an issue with a Toyota dealer,( I would prefer not to go into detail about yet) I am trying to resolve it amicably, but,I am beginning to feel like I am getting the run around. I am considering calling Toyota Corporate. Do I need to contact Toyota Corporate within a certain time frame of the issue? Or can a give them some time to rectify the problem before calling Corporate?

Really it depends on the problem you are trying to resolve. Some problems are corporate level issues, others are independent dealer issues. Can't really offer any advice without knowing the details.

    Try the service manager first.

Then see if they have a Customer service manager you could contact.

Then if needed call corporate office, but make sure you have all your facts in order. Time should not be a issue, unless your talking years

contact them now it cannot hurt

write down everything they say or recommend

write down times, and who you speak with at every level, and get callback numbers

and above all, for this entire issue BE NICE and articulate and BE NICE

just log every single conversation, call, even calls which go to voicemail or
go unanswered. Log it all. did I say BE NICE TO EVERYONE ?

    My experience:
06 Corolla, serpentine belt failed at 19000 miles; dealer replaced the belt under 3/36
Car home from school, and at 37000 belt was squealing. I checked on line an there was an applicable TSB which said if belt fails in 3/36 replace both belt and tensioner. Dealer just replaced the belt again, $180.00. I argued that he should have done the tsb at 19000. He said no, there is nothing wrong with the tensioner (as if the mechanic can possibly test it himself under all op conditions.)

Paid my money and left. Daughter left for school. Called toyota corp. They told me to talk to a PR person at the dealer and she was my intermediary. Sent her the TSB, and she contacted service manager, which i didn't want to bother originally. I sent the PR person the original work record at 19000, and service mgr. agreed with me. When my daughter came home from school 2 months later they did the TSB no charge (belt again and tensioner), and refunded my $180.00.

They were very nice when they found I knew what I was talking about, etc. PR rep met me at the door when I brough the car in, called later to make sure everything was ok... you get the picture.

So call toyota, explain, get their POC's for that dealer, and start the process.

This, and in rare cases, calling Toyota corporate may make things worse...
