Since I've got my engine bay all apart I found I had 2 unused connectors along the driver side fender and am just curious if anyone knows what they were used for? I don't have EWD to check.
first is just in front the fuse box

Does your truck beep when you lock/unlock the doors? The first pic almost looks like the engine bay beeper plug, but I'm not 100%.

nope. just hear the locks. it didn't come with key fobs or anything. Just metal keys so I was thinking one might be for the factory wireless locks. Next time I get a chance I'm going to check my fathers 02. it might give me some idea of what it is.

Looking at the fuse box I have a fog lamp listed on the box and its got pins in it for a fuse. possibly the front one is for fogs? I don't believe I've ever seen a first gen taco with fog though. only 4runners.

it could very well be something left over from the old trucks. my fathers 02 has the one by the firewall but there's nothing that looks like the other one near that area

Youl probably find alot of unused plugs. Toyota used the same harness for different equipped trucks.

oh I know how it is with any manufacturer. I was just curious if it was for options my truck didn't get. I recently found out I have the connection for the power lumbar seats for instance.
