As far as M/T's go in general they are never very good on wet roads at all. I myself have a set of Super Swamper Radial SSR's and they suck ass compared to the other set of Toyo A/T's i have. With that being said, my best friend has had a set of the Toyo M/T's I know how you all hate the "my buddy" story but just hear me out. The only reason I'm even leaving this comment is because of how much i used to drive his truck, I regularly drove it on rainy wet roads, snowy mountain roads, and even in the mud. The Toyo M/T's are an alright off road tire i voted the KMII's because they are a better off road tire, but the Toyo will hold its own in mud and sand but rocks are trouble, they are also known for having a 30,000 mile guarantee on them IIRC from Les Schwab at least in Cali. Just thought I would lend my .02 since I didn't see too much info on the Toyo in the thread

I used to have toyo's and they looked awesome and were nice on the road but sucked as far as offroad. I was going to go with KM2's but heard they are terrible in snow and thats mostly what i drive in 6 months of the year. i ended trying out the Mickey thompson MTZ's and they're the best tire i've ran. not to noisy on road and are amazing offroad and in snow.

Of those two Toyo over BFG... But, consider the tire that beat all others in a Mud Tire competion of most brands: HANKOOK MTs

If you don't wheel it just get a set of Michelin LTX MS/II in whatever size you prefer. Probably the best street tire ever made for light duty trucks. I know people that have gotten ~100k out of them with proper care and feeding. Also, they're excellent in weather. I wish they made them in sizes appropriate for cars.

I wish I had the money for Toyo's. I got BFG's. Very happy with them. They do great in snow and rocks. But they are softer then the Toyo's and the rocks tend to eat the lugs...quickly. And that is with very little wheel spin, can't imagine what they would look like if I was a skinny pedal masher

I have the km2's and they are great. You will not be disappointed . They are great in the snow/mud/sand and over rocks. Handle incredible on the highway. Only slight issue is with balancing - you have to use a lot of weight although with aggressive tires like these (no matter what brand) it seems to be the same issue

Toyo's.... Reason being I've seen to many cut sidewalls on the KM2's.

Personally though I'm a Cooper / Mickey Thompson fan, on my 3rd set of MTZ's right now and can't say enough about them.

check out nitto trial grappler MT's. mine barely needed any weights i think the most one need was 0.25 of weight on one of them. plus they are quiet, aggressive looking, not to bad of a price, and wear really good. getting ready to get my 2nd set here at the begining of summer.

Interesting story for you...last August I sliced a KM2 sidewall at the top of Daniel in Uwharrie.

Last saturday, Dennis did the same thing in the same place to his MTZ.

Other than that, Dennis and I have wheeled a LOT of the same stuff over the past year and neither of us has had more tire problems than the other.

I think KM2s had a bad batch early on or something. I just haven't seen any reports about them recently.

KM2s are the shit. but... I'm heavily biased as they were my first "aftermarket" tire purchase after lots of research and self master debating. I love the look of the toyos but haven't heard a whole lot about their off road performance as it's usually the mall crawler crowd that shells out the cash for em.

I would buy neither. Toyo's too heavy and expensive for my taste, and the BFG's are over rated(im on my second set, though not by choice)
