Ok. We are leaving my house in the next 5-10 minutes. If anybody wants to join, come on. We should be at the trailhead by 1015-1030.

Run into any Land Rovers while there? I didn't feel like getting up early to go with the group I run with. Plus, I had just run it a week or two ago.

We saw a few and about 25 Jeeps. Most of the crowd was gone by about 1 or so so we turned around and did it all again with no one else in the way. I was a good ride.

We went at 5pm and the only traffic were those leaving the area. Had the trail to ourselves except for one ATV. Best way to do it. :)

    Hey Guys,

I've been out for a while, just got back from a road trip east to MI for a couple weeks. I haven't been down to the Great Sand Dunes and am considering next weekend. Medona isn't completely open but I'm cool with just camping down there. Anyone who has been have recommendations for the best days to go?

I know the Toytec CAD is next weekend, I've got company coming the weekend after so may try and make a run during the week if next weekend doesn't work out if anyone is available and interested.

They just updated it on the 8th.

"The road is currently open only to the first creek crossing, 4.5 miles from the western entrance of the road. Campsites in Medano Canyon are NOT currently accessible by vehicle. Creek flow is now over 50 cubic feet per second (cfs), mandating closure of the road to prevent vehicles being washed downstream."

I plan on doing a few day trip later in June, but can only imagine the water getting worse.

I had a friend run that Miller Rock this weekend (I didnt know he was going) and said it was fun and had a few oh shit moments. We should keep it on the list of trails to do soon.

Also, Slaughterhouse had NO snow or even signs of any snow so I am wondering what Red Cone might look like.....

John and I were considering rampart or something equally fire-roadish since I need to take it easy on the new leaf springs for a few more weeks. If folks want to do flexy stuff I'll just park my truck and ride shotgun.

Ran miller rock this past weekend. I haven't been up before, but from looking at older videos, it appears there's significant washout below the ledge obstacle that makes it much tippier than it used to be.

    Some teaser shots.
