Alright I'm down for light wheeling and camping. Mostly going for the promised big ass fire though.



I know theres some Colorado newbs out there that wanted to hit some dirt so might as well make this a thing. In terms of difficulty, it doesnt get any easier than this. We may or may not make it back in time for Copper Kettle brewery meet at noon, but my goal is to arrive fashionably late.

Bring fire wood...we're gonna have a big ass fire to celebrate summer.

 

I wont be out of work till 5 and and I work up in Louisville/Lafayette. No way I could make it down in time.

Hmmm....I'm watching this weather and strongly reconsidering plans to camp tonight. I was hoping it would be as shitty on rampart as the mountains are expected to be...but its already down to 37 degrees...getting colder and I have a policy of not camping below 40 degrees.

Oh I've lived that life...camping on the snow with bottle a boiling water in my sleeping bag only to wake up freezing in the fetal position and hour later... hence the reason for the policy.

 

Umm have you seen my setup? No more cold tent!

 

Gotta get yourself a Mr. Buddy heater! Kept my tent so warm I didn't need my sleeping bag and it was in the teens outside

 

yeah I don't mind the temp too much but it looks like it's gonna be raining the whole time?

 

I thought about buying @YamaDirtrider 's when he went to the diesel setup but I was afraid that I cant use the excuse that it's cold and I dont have a heater.

Yeah, it sounds like a whole lot of suck...if you're reconsidering too then I'm fine with keeping it on the pavement this weekend and just doing the copper kettle and castle rock events.

I put a 10” fan in my sliding window pointed in the cap, set the thermostat to hot as hell, run it for 15-20 minutes before I crawl in and it gets toasty in there. With the remote start I can crank it up in the middle of the night too and it’ll only run for 15 minutes then shut back off. It’s 2019 man, where there’s a will there’s a way.

 

Yeah see therein lies the problem...I have no will to be cold or figure out a solution to not being cold.

On another note...you headed out to Telluride soon?

 

yeah I'm not really looking to get rained on all day for a simple camping trip up to Rampart
