be better to camp in hall valley below red cone and start fresh in the am. or do red cone-radical over to swan where there's more camping in the trees.

unless there's no chance of storms then camping up there could be awesome.

Brothers getting a lift and such on his '02 runner too so we will be testing that out.

I am posting this here, as well as the memorial run thread, since, well... It just belongs in both places so bite me! :D Haha.

I just sent our collections, donations, and my bearing donation to Mike's wife, Kimmy. She was quite please I think with what everyone had done. I am sure she won't mind me cutting and pasting what she had said about the donations:

You see, THIS is the kind of stuff that makes me honored to be a part of such a community. I feel honored to have known and talked to Mike, and to have been able to talk to you as well Kimmy. So everyone, thanks to all of your generous donations, above and beyond the raffle and such at the memorial event, I am happy to say that we were able to collect an additional $1160 by the end of July, and I expect that when my calendar runs out on the 18th of this month for the bearing funds, we should have an additional $400 or so. Thanks to all of you who participated! [IMG]:oldglory:[IMG]

Man, if I wasn't prepping my classroom for the year I would definitely do that. I would be better for the writing than the photography but can pick a good shot. I just don't know how to shoot manual on a dslr. Keep me in mind for future needs though.

Haha I'm better at the picture part! But I can write too. Keep me in mind for the future too NYCO.

Feeler...I'd like to go wheeling this weekend, either saturday or sunday (whichever is easier for most) on Eagle Rock http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=39

I've had a few friends run it recently so the trail itself is open, but we believe the East side gate is only open on weekends. So just in case the gate is not unlocked, we can do the gultches (Hackett, Longwater, Metberry) instead.

    Hackett: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=311
    Longwater: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=310
    Metberry: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=209

Sliders and rear locker are recommended for this journey due to the unknown condition of Eagle Rock.

    Any interest?

Came down Eagle Rock from the top over 4th of July while camping in the area. You definitely need one locker and sliders. Rocks are a bit more exposed now.

Thought of any dates yet? Can we plan it for after Labor Day? I spent two days hitting all those trails two weeks ago. I love it back there. I was by myself tho. The dog isn't much to talk to either but we had fun. I'm down to do it. :D
