Go check out Ouray and Telluride. They're about 5ish hours away. I took my stock Tacoma through some trails over there. Your truck would have a lot of fun on Black Bear pass. Unfortunately I'll probably be heading back to Eustis once I get back from Kuwait.

Any interest in a snow run up 7-Mile this weekend?

CBI plate rear bumper with swingaway, SPC Light Racing UCAs, ARB SS170HF Safari snorkel w/ Afrikaans centrifugal pre-cleaner, Tacoma antenna mod, TRD Supercharger w/ URD 7th inj. & URD pulleys, Anti-Dark engine bay lighting system. Having gone 250k, Aug 2016 was the time to replace the original clutch & get the driver's seat rebuilt/stuffed. Front & back Weathertech liners. '05 Tundra front disc brake swap. Full length Rocky Mountain Rack with 40" lightbar, Alternating strobe rear dust lights. I used a warm weekend in March 2022 to finally install my brand new from old stock 2000 4Runner driver's seat. $800 directly from the factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
Sat the 22nd & Sun the 23rd is supposed to be 60F & 59F, another 'warm before the storm'. the 15th & 16th are going to be about 30F lower. My vote, if I have one, is 22nd or 23rd.

I have a new eLocker to try & a potential spotter to train for Rock Therapy 2015. I really wanted to go last weekend but couldn't & don't want to be painfully cold doing it this weekend.

May not be any snow left by then on that trail, it is the most popular trail in this area and will be run out pretty quick. :p

Nothing wrong with both weekends for me. I'm still planning on going up this weekend if anybody wants to join.

    Second that.

It would be nice to have some type of gear swap or something. I'd like to see what everybody is running in person and get some ideas. I'll stay subscribed to this thread to see if something like this happens in the Metro area.

Thanks for this link to Wheeler Lake.

I get up to Breck a few times a year and this might be something to check out even though it looks a bit challenging.

Most meet ups are trail runs. A few lunch meetings here and there. And the occasional mod day.

I will be going up to run 7-Mile Saturday morning.
If anybody is interested, I'll be at Ted's Place at 8:30 am, should be at the trailhead by 9:00ish. Dress warm and bring a lunch if you decide to attend.:)
I'll be on CB channel 2.

i would assume the trail will be quite snowy?

we're looking to get the FJC out for a run and get kayla some seat time in it...we were going to head out solo this weekend but with the snow hitting how it did, solo won't be a smart idea in an unknown truck..

I'm going on an assumption as well, I haven't been up to check but I believe there will be some. The mountains look awfully white from my house, I'm only 5 minutes from Ted's place. It's not a rough trail in fact the snow adds a bit of fun to the trail. It's generally the climb out the top that has the deepest drifts.
