Yeah I live in castle Rock so I have a decent idea of what I'm looking at. I ran the gulchs a month ago or so and it had a decent amount, 8-12in. Looking to be a fun day nevertheless!

Last weekend we ran Phantom Creek (I think its called) which is a very simple trail in that trail network, no technical areas. We were mostly making fresh tracks and the snow was 1-2 feet deep with some decent drifts. During the trip, all six rigs got stuck at some point, and all who had winches used them along with two sets of maxtrax. :D The pics are a page or two back in this thread. By the time a few cleared the path, it was no big deal for those in the back. But clearing the path took speed and...hope of not being pulled off the trail.

If the path has been cleared, it would be much more doable but I am not sure if those trails see much use with snow. A month or so ago, we tried to make first tracks on Longwater Gulch and it took a few hours to make halfway to the top of the first hill from the gate. I couldn't imagine trying to go down the other side, and then return. Just make sure you have recovery equipment and shovels.

When the snow wanted to pull you into the ditch.. this happened :)

Awesome pics, I bet those maxtrax came in real handy. Yeah could end up being a winchfest seeing how my truck is the most built of the group, which isn't saying much. We will defiantly have our recovery gear, I never leave home without it!

Alright, need to get the truck off the pavement and see how the new shoes do in the snow. Anybody up for some snow bashing on Sunday the 28th? Open to trail recommendations...

Hoped you would. Any ideas of where we should head out to this time of year? Still haven't pulled any winch line.

So apparently I have my father-in-laws birthday party to attend on Sunday, so I'm out. Good thing I have a wife to remember these things for me. Sorry fellas, hopefully I get another weekend day off soon.

I do, don't know if I'm in yet though for this weekend... and I'm 100% out next weekend (moving) but I need to wheel a bit with the new rack/RTT... actually want to make at least 1 camping trip before Moab... but I'm thinking that won't happen until my Birthday weekend (first weekend of May)

Nice... not sure I want to camp down there though... the times I've been wheeling I haven't been impressed with the amount of people that roll through there... nor how rowdy some seem to be (fire'n guns in the direction of trials...) I think I'm going to make a trip down near Cinnamon pass. Hike Handies peak again... or out to Kite Lake... or maybe one of the 4598069 other places in Colorado LOL
