Slaughterhouse is literally the only trail that I know of, and I haven't run it yet. I'd be down for either though, as long as the weather holds enough. Cedar Mtn Road definitely looks doable. I'm down with either...wherever the group wants to go!!

Cedar Mtn Will be doable for sure. Went about a month ago to connect to long water gulch, which ran higher up and had some decent snow patches that made me turn back (I was running it solo) but cedar was good on the way there, only slightly difficult in some parts with run off from the rain. Boulder looks like it might have some better weather, never been around the area but this looks interesting as an alternative: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=203

That one looks alright as well. Aside from it being my first run, I don't have any recovery gear either, so I definitely need to play it safer. But I think that one would be alright.

My old man and I were going to go scout the Illinois Gulch area on Sunday, isn't that pretty close to where you all are talking about?

Yup, you actually take cedar to get to illinois, as well as metberry and hacket gulch. Cedar mtn road is a straight through while illinois gulch and the rest are out and back from it.

I don't think that slaughterhouse is a good "first timers" Trail, especially during this time of year

Fair enough. I just know where it is because my father-in-law lives out there.

What's wrong this time of year? I've done slaughterhouse in two stock vehicles on road tires in the past.

I would be surprised to still find snow below 9000 feet. Maybe in the shade, but not for long.

I did Eldorado Mountain / Caribou Creek for my first ever trail, almost went on Coney Flats and Middle Saint Vrain that day too. Decided to leave my truck and hop in a jeep for those two.

So for all y'all trying to hit Cedar Mtn Road on Sunday. Say we meet at the 'Decker's Corner' parking lot around 10:30am? 7224-7248 S Co Highway 67, Sedalia, CO 80135
