    Yankee Hill - Partially Open

    5/23/16 - Not open all the way yet. Running from Central City towards St. Marys you can make it about 5 miles until the snow is too deep to pass. There was a multi-vehicle extraction of a full size Chevy going on at the time we came to this spot. Trail is in otherwise good condition, a bit rougher than it has been in previous years. There is A LOT of trash along the trail for some reason- please bring a large trash bag and help pitch in by picking up some of this trash please.

    My dad's stock 4Runner made it the whole length of Yankee Hill no problem from the Alice side, so if you're going to do it, do it from that direction. That was two weeks ago.

    Yea I had 10:30 in mind since it's supposed to start raining around 2, and with that start time we would ideally be on our way out rather than trudging into the trail with the rain...

    Take I-70 to Fall River Road (exit 238 I think) and then stay on it all the way to Mine Road (it's a sharp right turn onto dirt about 8 miles from the highway) then you eventually take the steep trail up to the right and that's the start of the trail.
