Looking through your build page, your franken-truck doesn't seem to match the "stock" part of my question.

You can definitely do the Argentine portion in a stock truck. I have never run McClellan so I cant advise on that portion.

you'd be fine running either stock. i believe McClellan has the rating because of the switchbacks and ledges.

A small handful of select mods.
McClellan has a significant water crossing that can be plenty deep as mentioned earlier. Stock height vehicles should exercise caution based on that crossing depth and make sure to maintain a forward wake to keep from getting water in the intake.

LOL, that would match nicely with the hail damage I picked up Monday night. Thanks everyone, I'm going to see if I can't work that into the schedule on Saturday.

In all seriousness, from the pics on trailsoffroad you Shound be fine. Hell, I made it half way up msv on lower than factory ride and no armor aside from factory skid. Your turd gen is naturally 1” higher than stock 2nt gen

So, I think there's some differing definitions when folks use "McClellan"... some think of the portion which runs from near the Waldorf town site up to the top of the mountain as "McClellan", and others use the name in the same way that TrailsOffroad uses it (a road that forks off of "Argentine Pass" road/trail, or more appropriate Leavenworth Creek Road, not far after the start/departure from Guanella Pass Road)... and neither of those match what the USFS calls those various roads. :annoyed:

Zee - Remember the run I led a year or two ago which took us up a rocky route to get to Waldorf? That's what folks here are calling McClellen, which has that water crossing.

Ten+ years ago, that route took you up the creek, and at some point the trail was rerouted to only have a crossing.

I personally would not want to take a stock DCLB up the rocky route (FS 248.1B) unless it had proper skids and sliders. But, with enough good spotting and rock stacking, it would be do-able without damage (unless there was an oops by sliding off a rock, etc.).

So this is where you guys post trail runs. I’m out this weekend but definitely want to wheel with you guys. I’m usually with a bunch of jeeps. I’m running engineer pass 7/6 if anyone is interested it’ll be with the wife and kids though.
