If I was to make a list of Military folks to not "Duck with" it would include any Korean service and Royal Marines/ SAS/ SBS.

You ever witness a Korean Enlisted beatdown by an officer? They don't play at all.

You're the second person to mention this, so it must be real. I was never there long enough to see it first hand.

They literally make a whole show of it, we joke about Wall to Wall counseling but shits real there. I could only imagine if the US tried to do like this.

Pretty sure there are videos out there of it, I forgot what they call it in Korean.

Skiing or boarding type of stuff. If you wear jeans and get them wet, you'll be pretty miserable.

It'll likely be windy, so anything to cut the wind will make it a much happier experience. Bring a change of clothes if you do get wet.

Anyone who is.. Prepare for winter camping. This morning the temperature felt like -17 at the lowest i saw. During the day, it'll MAYBE break freezing at best. But if you go to the BV area it'll be ~10-15 degrees warmer.

Don't remind me. Oh wait, i live in Fairplay... it's worse here.

Are you thinking about it? I have been talked into crazier things before. If we could know that there would be an ample supply of fire wood, and we wouldnt go to woodsmen jail for having one, and we could find a spot semi out of the wind to set up, I might would be interested.....

Not sure what you can find, but surely there's some bigger stuff i can get for ya. Although kindling and smaller stuff would need to be brought as the larger wood i have is under snow.

My experience out here is that if you have a lighter and a log, you can have a fire.

Going to do a pot luck style lunch, if everyone wants to bring a little something. Not usually on the computer, but jumped on to clean up the list. Quote it and add what you want to bring for food. Please bring your own reusable utensils and plates, dont need to have a bunch of extra trash although I'll have a bag.

    Weston Pass Send It Run

    Saturday Nov 17

    8:30amline up, 8:45am roll out

Meeting location will be the corner of CR-5 and 285 where there is a large open parking area that will be impossible to miss. 39.153701,-105.999760.
If you're late, drive up Weston Pass and you'll find us stuck in the snow somewhere.

    Coms:
    Ham: 146.460
    CB: channel 11

We will be snow bashing up Weston Pass from the east side with bbq wherever we get stuck. Might be no snow might be tons, should be a good time. It's not technical. Family friendly, plenty of scenery, bring sleds for the kids. Also, bring snow gear. No matter what, it is pretty much guaranteed to be windy.

    @Wulf

Bring snow attire since it'll likely be deep.

Current conditions: likely close to 12" of snow near the bottom of the pass. At the top.. could be a ton. I was hoping to be able to run up there and scope it out, but only made it two or three miles shy of the bottom with the bug before I realized i needed gas.
Weather right now is low of 15, high of 33. Feels like temps will likely be close to 0 at meetup time. As long as its not windy.. its not bad.

Temps up to 39/15 for Sat. Aww yeah. Slight chance of snow but it's not until late Saturday night.

With no snow this week, i think the summit is possible!

There are some side trails and ones ive never explored if the summit is too easy.
