    Couple newbie Q's:

    - Which HAM do you guys recommend?
    - Will I be ok with the predator steps? (I have plans to replace the steps with sliders, just saving up for them.)
    - Do you guys bring chains on these runs?

    As soon as i'm out of this sling (shoulder surgery) I want to go on some rides.

    BaoFeng is the brand most here will recommend to get started with HAM.

    I'd take the steps off before you do any runs, or else you will end up like me and be ripping them off in the middle of a trail run because you are hitting them on everything

    Haven't seen anyone bring chains, most of our winter runs involve a lot of snow shoveling and traction boards.

    What hasn't been modified?
    So you have your ham license?
    Get it, it’s free-$15 and good for years
    Do you want to start cheep or jump in?
    Cheep = a baofeng expensive= ftm400 or d710

    Agree with Alec ^ take them off so ya can sell them before destroying them

    I used to have chains... need to see if they still fit these larger tires. Taco’s can only run chains on the rear. Front dosent have enough clearance unless you get somthing special
