Complete plug in play if you already have the auto dim compress mirror. 5min job.

The mirror I purchased had the quick connect with the 12 pin connector, which was plug and play for the existing mirror on mine (2018 Off Road model - has the tech pkg, but not sure if that matters). I'm not well versed in all things Tacoma, but I believe that if your truck has the built in compass and is auto dimming version, then its a part for part, swap. The OEM mirror was help onto the windshield with one torx screw, back out the screw, disconnect the wiring quick connector. The new mirror I received, had a "phillips" style screw included, so I removed it and reused the original Torx screw (same thread). Hung the new mirror on the windshield tab, tightened up the retaining screw, and reconnected the wiring connector. It took longer to type this, than to swap the mirrors. I only used a small screw driver set with the replaceable tips for the install. I found a you tube video to calibrate the compass, which was very easy. Hope that helps - Bill

Ordered and received my Homelink mirror. It bolted right up and plugged right in. Took me longer to find my torx bits than to install it. Great upgrade if you only have the dimming mirror.

    Thanks, Bob!

Thank you. Any idea if a homelink from a 2015 would work. I have one in my garage laying around but have not had time to see if it will plug in

If it's the OEM 2014-2015 Tacoma Homelink mirror, you can make it work. Those mirrors have a 12 pin to 14 pin adapter. You'll have to unplug the harness from the back of the mirror (there should be a plastic cap covering the connector - slip a small screwdriver in the top so you can press down on the connector lock tab, then jiggle it loose from the mirror). Remove the clip that holds the adapter harness against the stem, pop off the plastic cover surrounding the 14 pin connector, and wiggle the 14 pin connector while sliding it up and off the bracket - sounds like an involved process to do this, but it's pretty quick and simple. Then you can plug your Tacoma's 12 pin mirror connector into the back of the '15 mirror and you should be all set. Hope this helps!

I forgot to post in here but I ordered a used homelink mirror from Bob about a month ago and it is awesome. Bob was a complete pleasure to do business with and the mirror looks brand new. If I didn’t tell you it was used you wouldn’t be able to tell. Thanks for the great service and great product!

I sent you an email Bob. Looking for the Homelink mirror with blue compass and blue back lit buttons. Don't know if this is possible. Would prefer one of your quality used ones for price. Are you at all interested in trade in credit? 2017 Tacoma TRD off road. Do have the auto dim button and compass, same as a previous person that was asking about plug and play. I imagine mine would be plug and play also? Thanks!

Definitely recommend getting a mirror from Bob. Installed my mirror (used model) a few months back and it’s so nice to have homelink integration again!

I second that. I have 3 doors to control, mine works perfect. So easy to program. It's a true plug and play. Mine was used as well but you would never know it. Bob was awesome to do business with. I spoke to him by phone, he emailed me an invoice, I bought it Wed and installed it Fri.
