It’s the most expensive thing I’ve ever owned so I take as best care of it as I can. Don’t do much off the pavement with it as I’d like. That’s what my Jeep is for.

I hear ya but body work is like healthcare. Too expensive to pay out of pocket and that's elective surgery. It's your money though, if you got it, get rid of it.

Yeah, and you'll get your money back when/if you sell, any buyer would deduct from offer, plus their time/hassle. Take care of it, and it'll take care of you.

I'm all for using a truck like a truck, but Not everyone wants to turn a 2 YO vehicle in to a farm truck.

Trying to drown crabs is an interesting image :rofl:Even if boiling your paint job was a good idea, it'd be useless in that area.

OP, WalMart bikes weigh a metric fuckton, so that dent comes as no surprise. Like others have said, you don't want your local Craigslist mobile, Bondo-sponsored Johnny coming out to screw that up more. If it can't be PDR'd (which it doesn't look like it can due to the sharp creases), that'll run you closer to the $500-1000 mark. A good shop may not even cut that out, but would pull the interior, cut or drill, and work it from the inside to prevent future water intrusion.

That looks like a 1500 dollar dent to me, they will need to paint the whole cab side and door. Try Yelp for a PDR guy, send a few different ones photos of the dent.

    $150

Much better than the $1,200 quote a big shop gave.

Well I can't see where it was. I'd say $150 well spent.

That looks damn good, in a tough spot for PDR too, and a great price.

Did anyone watch this? Because the part at the end, where he says “this is why body shops do not use the method of dry ice,” was hilarious.

I’m going with: let the pdr guys do what they can, touch up paint, then find yourself a nice set of custom rocker panel vinyls for both sides.

<edit> So the late to the party guy wants to know, what route did the pdr guy use? Through the door panel, inside the truck? Magic ramen and dry ice?

It’s nice to see that it got fixed, for a reasonable cost.

Go to a local car dealer. They all have a dent guy that comes once a week or so. Those guys can do amazing stuff

I was told he used a rod that gets welded on then used to pull the dent. He then paint matched the small little area. If anything it’s old fashioned auto body repair as this guy has been doing it for a lifetime.
