My friends at have crafted an intake for the 3rd gen Toyota Tacoma (v6 model). A really cool feature about their system is that it’ll work with their front intake scoop or the option to use an aftermarket snorkel system. They dyno’d the car and saw a +12 horsepower gain, we all know we need that extra push. This is their 3D printed prototype which is currently on the vehicle for testing. This final system should be available in the next couple of months, give or take. If there are any updates, I'll keep you guys posted. I got to run it last night for a good part of my night. Sounds great and I actually feel it pick up better from mid-high. I think you guys will be happy with this when it's released!

    Very cool!

Would you have the measurements behind the airbox towards the firewall? I would like to add a dual compressor or an auxiliary battery behind there.

Are they going to design a better looking snorkel for our trucks? The current ARB is a tad ugly:puke:

Looks better than the OEM Taco one, haha.
I do not think they'll be making a snorkel themselves, so far, it's hooked up to my ARB Safari. They've lined it up perfectly to work with their system and should work with any other company as long as it leads to the same pipe to the fender.

So, I visited my mechanic and from their measurements, it might not fit. But this is still a working prototype. They did mention they spoke to someone about Dual ARB compressor fitment and that they're still working on the design. Who knows, they might make adjustments.

    Ok, so updates.

Kit will be available in a couple of months give or take. CARB exemption will take about a year. The kit will still be sold, but when the time comes around, you can call in and request a sticker as of Feb 2019.

However, if they end up scrapping CARB exemption you will be SOL correct?

Can't wait to get more updates on this. Currently, I have an injen CAI on my Armada and it woke up the truck. It gained a good amount of low-end torque.

    Great news!
My friends at Injen got the final product and it was time for fitment.
Everything went smooth and got to drive it for a few days, it sounds great.
From what their R&D department told me, its about a 12-15hp gain.
The car does seem to perform mid-high range. You can feel it breathing more in versus the stock box.
I did ask for a dyno before and after results. I'll post if and when it becomes available. (UPDATE: I will upload Dyno sheet tomorrow)
A good update after giving them some input from both myself and their team, they've redesigned the box a tad smaller from the firewall side to be able to install your air compressors/2nd batteries. The original prototype left little to no room for accessories.
This does allow an aftermarket snorkel system. It was tested on the ARB Safari snorkel. A blocker plate will be optional to block air flow from the front ram scoop.
Set to be released sometime late next month or early November.
Great aftermarket solution for anyone running a snorkel system.
If you're attending SEMA this year, find one installed in the Injen booth and mine will be propped for 2 out of the 4 days over at the Decked USA external booth.

    Cheers!

Thank you to my friends at @InjenTechnology! The Tacoma received the all new Evolution Intake set to be released next month and debuted at this years @SEMAShow. This unique intake gives you two options. You can use the provided front ram scoop, or fit it to your snorkel system with the side inlet ready for use. There will be an optional sealed blocker plate to cut airflow from the front allowing it to breathe directly from your snorkel. I just did my first drive with it and it sounds great. They dyno’d the truck after install and saw a 12+ HP gain.
