I will be running a dual battery set up using an Odyssey cage. I will provide photos once complete. Maybe 2-3 weeks from now.

Everyone needs to look at the dyno a bit closer. Look where that 16 hp difference is. It is at 6,000 rpm, where the red curve keeps going up and blue (stock curve) has started to go down. Not sure how the red curve keeps going up past 6,000 rpm because my truck shows the redline at 6,000.

Take a look at the difference in power elsewhere in the rev band. It is about 5-8 hp or so. So that's just about what you expect one of these systems to give you. You won't notice this power increase anywhere but at the very to of the rev range.

Yep... he’s correct. And that 5-8hp is what you actually feel driving normally as you do

Word, I might as well reduce some weight myself and on the Taco. Best bang for the buck!

I just put in the AFE CAI with the scoop. The AFE scoop is pretty easy to take off. This one has a few extra screws so I worry that the dealer might lose them if they take it off.
How loud does it get in the 2k and 4k RPM range?

    $400 bucks?! Ouch....

I wonder how advantageous it is for these companies to make/sell an intake for the tacoma. I think it's fair to say, that most people dont buy aftermarket intakes for whatever their reason is. Too expensive, doesn't do anything, or they believe that the stock intake is more than sufficient. Especially at a $400 price point, I would rather go with another brand, if I were to buy an intake. I guess most would go with an injen intake due to brand loyalty?

    But jeez $400 bucks?! Ouch...

Only reason I got the AFE one was because it was a great sale. $400 is definitely pricey.

I hear ya. I was pretty pumped about injen making an intake for the Tacoma, until I saw the price. If it was cheap enough, i would definitely buy one also. Anything to go vroom.....or at least sound like it. Haha.

To be honest, 5-8 horsepower for $400 is not that bad for just a CARB legal intake. I'm just skeptical it'll even give me that much power.

Any gains would be minimal at best, the one guy on here that put a 3rd Gen on the Dyno made Zero extra power with the filter removed so a high flow filter is basically worthless.

Hard to justify for sure but at least Injen is a trustworthy company with tons of experience building performance intake and exhaust systems.
