Why not just buy the TRD intake?

Also, is it Carb approved with a sticker?

I have spent lots of dyno time tuning motorcycle engines. Small changes to the air box can make or kill HP. Removal of filters while you may think they should allow more air usually just introduce turbulence which kills flow and in my experience causes huge mid range holes in your power curves. Small gains on top but horrible everywhere else.

I don’t trust anything without a dyno run to prove the parts work. That huge “hit” most feel after a ton of non dyno verified work is usually a massive mid range dip followed by a big recovery which feels a lot faster when in reality it is just slower. Rule of thumb is if it feels slow it is making power everywhere and therefore no big hit.

20 years ago I had a National championship winning bike and also a motor / carb / air box from one of the best tuners in the country. In the end I ran the motor from one and the carbs from the other and the stock air box. The modified air box gained me one hp but lost me 6 in midrange. Stock was strong everywhere without the 1hp on top. Butt dyno said the modified air box was faster. Real dyno proved my butt dyno wrong.

I doubt that Injen will be belaying about the intake performance and HP gain. I have used their product before in many of my cars and is been spot-on! I don't think they will be putting out a product without testing and researching, specially when people will be testing the intake after buying it etc.

Still good for the 2019? I know I had a tC a long time before. From 2006 - 2007 they changed the MAF Sensor bracket so they had to make a third party adapter. Wanted to see if I'd be running into that. I assume it should be the same...

Does the engine cover no longer fit with the intake?

I would assume it fits, but can’t say with 100% certainty. Best to check with Injen.

Still fits just fine. Just hadn’t put it back on yet when I snapped this picture. Not the best picture of the intake, but you can see the cover installed.

I checked all the way back to 2006. 5 emails and never got a response.
Maybe I'll get one this time. :)

I was looking at their website but it says it only fits Tacoma’s 2016-2018.
You know if they got one for the 2019 coming out soon.

They said they were having a 2019 going in and they'd get back to me on fitment. I'll check back with them. They are pretty good with Facebook Messages. I would assume it would fit.

How has the intake Perform since installation, does this intake sound lounder than your stock and doesn’t it get rid of the pedal lag from the throttle body? Also did u do with the dry filter or oil ?

I’m debating on the SB intake for 299.99 it’s similar intake set up with two way air inducers

So far so good. I went with the oiled filter. It is a bit louder than stock, but not as loud as some of the AFE intakes I've heard. The intake seemed to make the truck a bit more responsive, but nothing too drastic.

If you had to choose after knowing how Injen cold air intake is and overall price and quality would you still prefer ur Injen or the afe, SB, For an intake?

Also any reason oil filter over dry? I figure the dry is easier to maintain and less risky for damages to sensor

Does this intake have two channels for the air to filter box? Also how does this compare to the sB intake and afe intakes designs ?
