I get why you did that but how about cutting off some of the exposed threads instead?

Makes sense. Without the hex hole you'd have to hold that joint with vice grips if it started twisting on you while taking that nut off. That usually destroys the joint or at least the rubber. I vote for the relocate kit.

Well after seeing how bad it made the joints and the boots all tweaked I did actually cut it off. Just a small piece and then added some rubber silicone to the end of the bolt in case it does make contact (doubtful). I think it will work out great. I would just get a whole new rod when this one dies.

Are both sides like this? Could the sway bar not be centered in the mounts to the frame?

I checked everything, it was literally 1/8" of bolt touching at articulation on both sides, so I just trimmed the bolt. Problem solved

See the very first post (updated just now)

Ok bear with me here. And I hope I don’t sound like a dick. Do you know what your steering rack is and where to find it?

Those two round things are where the rack bolts to the frame. If you look at your rack you can see them and check the tightness.

If you pop off your front skid it’ll be very visible where they are. Good luck!

Folks, I just thought I’d chime in on this. If you have an aftermarket bumper. Check that as well. Mine ended up being a tad loose and made a horrible popping sound. Tighten it down popping went away.

I’m still getting a bump from the front end and I’ve checked everything I can think of - so I’ll list it here and see if you guys have any other ideas.

First - this “bump” happens when I am turning right and all the weight of the truck shifts to the left. It’s not an audible sound - it’s a bump I can feel underneath my drivers side floorboard.

    Truck has 50k miles.

    I’ve done the following:

    1. Loosened the UCA thru bolts, greased the zerks and retightened them. (Total Chaos)

    2. Torqued the uniball thru bolt.

    3. Torqued all four LCA alignment bolts to 100ft

    4. Visually inspected the LCA ball joints - OEM (no leaks but haven’t done the pry bar test)

    5. Checked upper and lower shock bolts and re-torqued. Also no visual leaks - icon shock with king springs.

    6. Retightened all hardware on my ARB bumper

    7. Checked the steering rack bolts - they’re tight.

8 visually inspected the LCA bushings.

    9. I don’t think it’s coming from the rear - but you never know so i Re-torqued all leaf spring bolts two bolts while jacked up and the last one on the weight of the truck to prevent bushing bind.

    10. retorqued all body/cab mounts.

Still bumping on right turns. I will add it doesn’t happen every time but I am able to reproduce the issue at will.

    Thx fellas.

did you replace the body mount at the radiator? I got one from Energy and installed it upside down as others recommended. It got rid of some noise. The stock mount was destroyed and it was metal on metal. I'm at 50k as well. Also, the last time I had noise like that, I a quick test for play in the UCA uniball, turned out both had a bit of play so replaced those.

Replace your furthest forward cab mounts, I bet they are shot. There is updated parts available. Only way to inspect them is to fully disassemble btw.

All of my body mounts have been replaced with energy suspension (including the radiator mounts) but I may try flipping them like @seelyartacus said.
