Update in 3rd gen 6/23

Besides having Alexa now what other new programs were installed or updated?

 

I didn't notice any update on mine.

 

I noticed my clock didn't work on the ride home. Guess it was updating everything.

 

I also did not notice anything

 

Didn’t notice anything myself but I was still sleeping on the ride in this morning

 

i got it this morning you have update the app on the phone first. then the head unit will ask to update

 

Is this an iPhone only thing or is there an Android app as well?

 

maybe I do have an iPhone. FYI I have not been able to get Alexa to play music, it kinda sucks. it does work with home automation so that's good

I was exited to see this update. It even worked as soon as I set it up! The shitty power of Entune took over on the next two drives when I got in my truck and it’s terribly buggy and unreliable. How does Toyota actually approve of these things?

If it's an Alexa related update then that answers my question. Don't have it, don't want it.

Barely works outside of telling you what the weather is. Not sure why they even bothered. Can’t wait to rip this radio out and set it on fire. An 8 trac would be an improvement

 

Great, they are listening inside our vehicles now...

 

I can't understand the allure of Alexa or any of those listening apps. Mark me as old.

 

Some of you are just being grumps... you don't have to update OR use it even if you do update. Adding features for free is not a bad thing.

Anyway, to the topic at hand, according to the app "What's New?" section, it only mentions adding Alexa and "other minor enhancements".

I have an Android phone, as well.

 

Adding features is only a good thing if they work...

 

What is the name of the app that I need to receive updates ?

 

works great for me! You gotta have an Amazon Prime account to really make it work well for you I feel.
