Update in 3rd gen 6/23

Were u able to get music to play?
It crashes every time I ask it to play. Could be an iPhone only problem.

 

restart you phone. My music works great after asking Alexa to play it.

 

Holy shit that worked. I take everything back.

 

I got an update to my Android Remote Connect a few days ago. Now I can see if the windows and moonroof are open in the status section. Couldn't see those before the update.

What is android remote connect?

Mine plays music through Amazon but getting it to work is way too difficult, and so far it has worked 20% of the time without needing to go in to the app to sign in or something similar.

 

I got it yesterday. Wish they would have added google home instead of Alexa. Thought about setting it up but what do you use it for? I use Spotify for music.

 

Remote connect is a Toyota app for remote (anywhere with an internet connection) starting your truck, locking/unlocking the doors, checking things like doors locked/unlocked, windows up/down, odometer, gas level, last parked position, etc. etc..

There's an Iphone version as well.

Yep. Nice feature, but now that I'm retired I doubt I will renew the subscription after the trail year is up. It's $80/year. If I was still working I might have wanted it, but being retired I don't think it would get enough use to justify the cost for my limited use of it.

Used Alexa the 30 minute drive home yesterday to keep testing. Didn't have a problem at all. If it doesn't work, it's probably you...

 

Maybe since you all have a newer truck yours is updated already? I agree that it is buggy as shit and all I have is Amazon prime and never had an alexa but the option to have it is pretty cool but there’s a lot of other things that could’ve been upgraded like the navigation app. I have an iPhone and didn’t download anything special to get it to work. I’ll definitely stick with Spotify on the Bluetooth app. Whenever Alexa is installed you’ll notice that your phone is always listening for a command.

 

I have a Google Pixel... it's listening for everything, not just a command.
