None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Quick update, I had the air bag light come on, I went to Ira Toyota , Milford Ma. They diagnosed it as a "spring cable" It cost $580 to fix. I said it should be covered by warranty, they said "NO"...after looking around at various forums I found out that it is covered under the Restraint system's Warranty...60 month/60,000 which ever is first. My truck is well with in that time.

I went to the dealer yesterday and was calm and said they had made a mistake as it was covered and I showed them the book. They agreed it was with in the specified time limit. However they said they would have to check and see if the cable spring was included in that warranty....so I will go back later today and see what they say.
Should they give me grief I will go thru Toyotas complaint dept and write a letter of complaint to the MA. Attn General... MJEFF

Next time, try Toyota Expressway, they do the spring TSB for my 09 Tacoma no question ask.
I hope this can help and wish you luck to get the money back.

I was expecting a call from the dealer today, of course it never came, so I drove over and they handed me a Toyota generated sheet saying the customer has to pay for the "spiral spring" replacement.

It clearly states in my warranty that Toyota will " cover repairs needed or correct defects in materials of any seatbelt or air bag system supplied by Toyota, if you are with in 60 months or 60K."

Ira did the tsb on my rear spring with no problem....and they did the gas pedal repair and reflashed the comp.
I did file a complaint thru Toyota of America....and I filed a complaint with the Ma. Attn General's office.

Unfortunately, I paid for it to have it done a few weeks ago, any insurance company would take a dim view of driving around with a airbaig that was not functional, especially in MA.

Yesterday , I filed a complaint with the Attn General office in Boston. I also called Toyota's , customer expierence center and spoke to one of the staff and got a case #, and faxed him all the paperwork. So we will see what happens in the coming weeks.

well it seems like you have taken all the right steps so far. Now just keep your fingers crossed that everyone will do their job and get things taken care of and not just blow you off.

The wire harness was the only failure I had to pay for on my 2005 Tacoma... it was over 60,000 miles when the airbag light came on. Was about $300 for me, a couple years ago. The thing is that so many of our wire harnesses are going bad, this has to be a manufactorer's defect and not simple wear and tear. No TSB for it?

Got a call from Toyota Sales of America. The wanted to verify my address for the reimbursment for the cost of the cable spring.

Today the check came .....with a nice letter saying all the right things, including how every Toyota dealer has a customer rep in house to help with these problems..... he's probably on vacation 24/7....MJEFF

Steve, I would bring the warranty booklet with you and point out the 60 months or 60K portion of the warranty.

Toyota of Milford, Ma. produced some sort of paper work that clearly listed the owner as responsible for payment. Should they pull that at your dealer and if in the end they won't budge on the repair , you can appeal and forward all the paperwork to Toyota and I am sure the results will be the same for you.

Its been less than a month since I forwarded all the paperwork to Toyota. Good luck, keep us informed. MJEFF

Thanks. If they don't want to fix it I will start a file with the NYS Attorney Generals office.

I just had this repair work done today at my local dealer. My light came on at about 69k miles. At first they tried to charge me $603 for the repair. I asked him why was he telling me that when he had my extended warranty info. When I picked the truck up this evening I noticed the bill for Toyota was only $370ish. Either they are making a killing or Toyota is reaming the dealers.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
The part is$240 through cheap toyota parts. 1/2hr worth of work 3/4hr total time.
Disconnect neg battery terminal, wait 15 min, remove screws holding the air bag, remove/disconnect the air bag, disconnect/remove clockspring, reverse to install(minus waiting).

Do not let anything touch the air bag connection, and store it outside the truck while working.
