Do you know how to test for a draw? Turn truck off and take key out of ignition. Take the negative battery cable off, connect test light from disconnected neg cable to neg battery terminal. If the light lights up something is drawing power. Start pulling fuses till light turns off. That fuse should lead you in the right direction.

I read online how to do it with a multimeter but I haven't done that yet. The only draw test that has been done is the one the do at advanced auto parts but when they did that it came up with no significant power draw.

They are monkey spanks that make $10 an hour. They don't actually know anything about cars or diagnosing problems. They look up parts for problems you diagnose yourself. Try to figure it out or take it to a mechanic.

That's what I think too. The battery is currently charging and I will do my own test when it has fully charged

Just got back from the eye docs office...eyes are dilated, so maybe I'm missing something.

OP starts thread 10/12/15, says problem started about a month before - that's get us to around mid-Sept.

Problem occurs when the temps get < 40 degrees at night in mid Sept. and the OPs location is Florida?

All is correct except where I am. I am in Wyoming for college.

All car test come out in spec. Alternator is working and putting out around 13.9 volts. Starter is fine and the draw test is within reason.

The average temps for the past two weeks, during the about day 35-40, night time in the 20s

Alternator?? If there's no draw on the battery, maybe your alternator sucks. Nevermind, just saw previous post

Piston return spring modulators are a common problem with those, might be that.. I'm still waiting to hear the results on a proper draw test. :(

I will have my battery back tomorrow afternoon and I picked up a multimeter today so I will run a couple of test tomorrow. One when it is warmer in the after noon and then at night when it's cold.

Got my battery back after charging. They load tested it off the truck and it came back with these readings.

    13.22 volts
670 cold cranking battery is rated at 700.

I took these reading with a grain of salt though because the test was done inside at 75 degrees instead of 28 outside.

I will do the draw test in about an hour after I have run some errands and let the car cycle on/off a couple of times.

I think I found the culprit that kills my battery. I will test again later tonight

Pulled my OBD2 wifi adapter that my phone hooks up too and it dropped way down.

Interesting... I keep my OBDII wifi adapter hooked up all the time, but rarely use it. Now that it's getting cold, I might start paying attention to the battery reading. Which model do you have?

Check battery voltage now with it plugged in and come back in 2 hours and check it. Or unplug it and see if truck starts in morning, if it does leave it unplugged until you get a CEL. Glad you finally have some answers

I'm just gonna leave it unplugged and see what happens in the morning.

Idk exact model but it was only like $15 on Amazon. I opened up the brains part of the adaptor and there was some kind of white powery substance all over the circuits. And it also looked like the wifi antenna was shorting something out

Truck started up fine this morning. Looks like the wifi adapter was the culprit
