That's one good way to keep Toyota out of the loop. How about everybody with low trans fluid fix the issue themselves so this continues to be an issue with the '17's and so forth. I'm going to have it fixed while under warranty, and if in the long run there's issues with the trans because it wasn't fixed earlier on there's something to fall back on.

Better to let the issue be known, I've already called Toyota Corporate about it as well.

I had this issue. Toyota is replacing my transmission and the dealer is sending mine back to Toyota for their engineers to work on. Both Toyota and my dealership have been absolutely fantastic throughout, it's refreshing to see them take care of their customers.

I'm not sayin' don't let them know about the issue...Hell ya... raise all kinda shit...BUT ... if you cannot get it fixed....!! I'm just saying that if they will not fix it....I will, cuz I gotta drive MY truck a lot and I don't have the time for them to figure this out.... If I let them put me off....my tranny is pooched...."MY BAD".... I don't trust them to come good for it my man..

Each to their own, I guess.....

My truck.... I treat it like MY truck, not Toyota's truck...

    8. Transfer case fluid;)

If you have the tow package, might want to mention the external thermostat; it's not in the TIS.

Makes me wonder what they'll do different w a new tranny. They're not even acknowledging it at the majority of dealers as a TSB or anything similar. 6 speed manual for me from here on in. That's for sure!!

Maybe that's because they haven't heard of the issue? Some of you act like Toyota dealerships spend all day on tacoma world reading all the posts by the tin hat crowd. That simply doesn't happen.

My dealer had one guy bring in his truck before me but nobody (not even the owner) could repeat the issues during a test drive. Probably was an owner who read one of these threads and thought they could get something in return for it. All that does is hurt the process because dealers are less inclined to take customers seriously. Once they confirmed the issue on my truck (took a few min test drive), they took care of the rest.

As I said the dealer and Toyota have been fantastic.

How would that be possible? There are at least 100 people on here who've reported it to Toyota. Ever hear of a computer? Perhaps a new design would be something to watch? Just a thought?? Come on. Get real...

Okay, and of those 100, how many have actually driven with the tech, clearly repeated the problem, and not had a resolution? Zero by my count.

They have sold tens of thousands of these trucks, 100 represents a fraction of a percent. I'm sure they've had hundreds of people bring in a truck for a light bulb too, doesn't mean every dealership should know exactly what you're talking about.

If you don't think that well over 100 people going to actual Toyota dealerships and reporting the exact same issue, and many of them finding low tranny fluid from the factory isn't a "problem", then this conversation is over. Peace ✌️

So according to your theory, 50 percent of 2016 Tacoma owners have to report a problem before it's a "problem". Listen, you're on another planet. Let's just agree to disagree and move on.

I never once said it wasn't a problem. Interesting way to argue, have no counterpoint so you just claim others said something they didn't and say peace.

Once again I never said that. Not sure what your deal is bud, just trying to help.

Same as OP... Apologies if thread was derailed between first post and my reply, I didn't read that part.
