Yeah, that's what I thought. Anyhow, what's done is done and this kind of shit is exactly why I normally stay away from stealerships.

Not sure what the minimum level is, hopefully somebody can chime in with some info. I'd be more worried for the guys with higher miles and never had their transmission fluid level checked even though their trucks have been fine and dandy; or the folks who don't read into forums.

Too many variables to say for sure what is too low and for how long until damage occurs. On older cars many classic car mechanics will tell you it is worse to overfill or run full all the time than to leave a bit of room with fluids or it can add unnecessary pressure.

its because you said ud pay if they didnt find anything... if they found something its covered under warranty so u technically should have had them check for free

They wouldn't check without my leaving it overnight and then the circus of them "finding or replicating the issue" which for most customers the dealer can not replicate the issue. I didn't want to play that game because I don't have time for that.

So your paperwork must be inconsistent with my dealer's paperwork.

:D I thought the same, asked them, the confirmed it and I left.

I also thought all fluids got checked for the 5k service, if so
they didn't even bother to fill the washer fluid.

Just would like to see the dealer write up so I can show my dealer this information and inquire why they are telling two different stories.

lol, j/k man. hang on a sec, let me upload it for you. it seems so many
dealers have so many different answers for things that should be a standard.
fuk I hate dealers! :D See me edit? Aren't they supposed to top off fluids?

just checked 2nd Gen, looks like fluids aren't on them @ 5k. strange
though, you'd think they'd just do simple shit like that to keep a customer.

says leaf spring bolts. Any chance he may have been talking about the ones on each end of the springs. not the ubolts themself.
I just dont get the issue with dealers not wanting to check the fluid and making a big deal. I guess I had a nicer dealer that gave me no hassle took it right in and checked. Also the tech did note on the wrtieup he did feel the hesitation from R-D so guess he was able to recreate it.

Oh here is a photo of my service write up.
In case some others want to start printing these out and taking to other dealers giving them issues showing alot of others are having problems

I have an appointment on Thursday for mine. Hopefully won't be pulling teeth to get them to actually check the fluid level.

I thought the same at checkout, I went though everything.
When I saw the bolt torque I said, this is for the U-Bolts that hold
the leafs to the axle, correct? and he said Yes.

Has anyone with a 4 cylinder, or 6 without the tow package, found their fluid to be low?
