Hi guys, I just wanted some opinions on a couple different things. Scroll to bottom for tonneau cover update.. can’t decide between toolbox or tonneau cover.

First, I plan to get a black toolbox very soon and my mother offered to spend $200 for my birthday. Are there any around this price range that aren’t junk? If not, I can certainly try to make up the difference. Pics, opinions, and prices please.. Also, feel free to judge me for my mommy buying me a toolbox. Just a broke college student working part time for minimum wage here. And I do at least pay my own truck payments. :)

Second thing is.. my freaking DRL lights look white after two months. I can NOT find a bulb that will stay true amber any longer. Any ideas or fixes for this? I’m sure many have this issue and I can’t stand it. I buy new bulbs every few months because it irks my nerves so bad.

As always, thanks for all replies! You guys are awesome!

UPDATE: Is this a good Tonneau cover? I’m not a fan of the tri fold as you lose bed space and I can’t afford a bakflip.. opinions and suggestions?

Dont get a toolbox, those never look good imo unless you actually need it or just dont care how it looks. You can get a tonneau for $200. I keep all my tools under the rear seat and behind it too.

As for drl bulbs, what brand are you using? I have never had the bulb turning white issue. I used sylvania bulbs from autozone when mine went out twice and it's been amber for years now.

I removed my tool box for a tonneau cover.. I keep a large water proof tote up against the cab for tools and such. And I use the regualr sylvania long life bulbs and have never had fading issues.

Not really getting it for looks, but I also don’t think they look that bad.. especially considering how expensive these tonneau covers are for what they are. Not a fan of the tri fold one taking up bed space, the only one I would like is the roll up one. Which is still rather expensive.

As for DRL’s, I have tried every brand there is man, they all fade after a few months for me.

Haha, very tempting. Not really looking for a slim though. I looked at pics on your profile and it looks nice, why don’t you like it?

Which tonneau cover did you go with and how much was it? Pics?

As for DRL bulbs, I guess my truck is just broken idk. It eats DRL bulbs -_-

Are you getting the bulbs that the glass is actually amber or clear and the filament puts out and amber light.

I’m not sure. Have tried Sylvania and Napa long life bulbs. The bulb looks orange before even turning it on

I see, but I have aftermarket headlights. Still uses the same bulb for the DRL/blinker but obviously a new/different housing. Still look yellowish rather than amber after a few months

Yeah that's the one I was talking about in my post. Plenty of people run those with no issue.
