    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    Initial thoughts.

I can definitely see what people were saying about more vibrations with the Poly Tcase mount. It's not that much of a deal for me. Just something to get used to. With another mechanical part attached to the frame, I was pretty much expecting it.

I LIKE the way I did the floor board patch. I did 2 layers of 16 gauge sheet metal with foam sound deadener/heat shield between them. Screwed (not welded) so I can get back in to the shifter linkages if needed. Actually makes things quieter they they were before the second case.

I don't love the way the triple sticks ended up, or the way the boot ended up either. It's not enough to make me give a shit too much, but will probably be re-addressed in the future. The sticks do have full range of movement, and they don't hit each other, so they function... I just don't like the way it looks, more than anything.

Thank you! Ya, it's been a busy winter. Our trip to Hammers next week should actually be a welcomed vacation from the projects. Really looking forward to it. And EXTREAMLY glad to be able to drive my truck again, at least till the next big project. That will probably be April....

Started making the skid plate for the transfer cases, and a crossmember to bolt the back of the skid.

Went and bought a Harbor Freight bender. I probably wouldn't use it on a bend past 45° but I knew I was dealing with bearly any bend, so I figured what the hell, I'll try it lol.

    Love the build man!

Two questions for you; what triple stick kit did you go with?

Second, how did you get your driveshaft lengths? Looks like you got them lengthened/shortened before installing the cases? Do you know the lengths? Is this public knowledge how much one needs to be lengthened/shortened? (Maybe a newb question)

looks to be a RADesigned triple stick. You shorten/lengthen the shaft based on the additional crawl box you’re adding.

I see. So by measuring the "length" of the crawlbox, you add or subtract that length to the driveshafts.

On their website, the RAD triples sticks state: "This unit will work with the following: Toyota: Two TOP SHIFT 4cyl style gear driven dual cases"

Do the 4 cyl and 6 cyl 1st gen tacos have different transfer cases? Therefore it reads to me like the rad design sticks are designed for the 4 cyl cases? I believe @El Taco Diablo has a 6 cyl?

I have a 6 cyl, 5 spd manual 1st gen and a trail gear crawl box that is awaiting install. Just trying to get all the parts figured out before I tear the truck apart.

yes, you are clear about shorten/lengthen the shaft. Keep in mind, tall lift (typically 3” suspension + 3” BL) will cause a length difference from yoke to yoke.

there’s 2 different triple stick, 1 for the rf1a gear case and 1 for the chain case. You will need the one for the chain case, which will be for the Tacoma. as for the chain case, it will use the same stick regardless if it’s a 26 (4cyl) or 23 (v6) spline input.

DON’T CONFUSED CHAIN CASE WITH GEAR DRIVEN CASE. TOTALLY DIFFERENT

BEWARE, the triple stick will only work if your Tacoma tcase is J-pattern and not the push button type
