If I ever re-position my throttle body directly to the sc inlet and get rid of the stock restriction my plan is a 4" intake where the battery currently sits, then taper down to the 3" tb with one of these honeycomb straighteners to prevent maf errors.

 

Wow. They sell them preassembled. I had no idea. I would not mind running one of these at all.

On a sidenote, that would be one hell of a mod for the blower. How much of a power bump do you think it would give you if you did that?

 

I dont have any idea really. As far as I know it has never been done before. It would most likely improve throttle response due to closer tb position and top end.

Probably not much improvement for stock or 2.85 pulley but for those with smaller pulleys we may see benefit. It's like what I had talked about before, when you start to create vacuum in the sc inlet it takes more hp spin the sc.
@Athlaos talked about this as well referring to his dyno charts.
I also demonstrated this to @5thGearPinned when we had his sc off. With a drill hooked up to his sc spinning at roughly 2200 rpm if you block a little more than half the sc inlet the drill would start bogging down and of course would get worse to more you close off the inlet. Considering we are spinning 6 times that speed it makes sense we are being robbed of available hp due to parasitic drag on the sc.
So it's not that the engine necessarily would make that much more power but losing parasitic load on the sc would make the power available to the flywheel.

Something so simple as installing a “y-pipe” or headers, that makes the legislators’s nerves crawl. Emissions is likely 20% the reason. Betting high. Money however, is C.A.R.B.’s driving force. They have literally been quoted for saying that they make the rules, so they know how to break them. That’s a longer unrelated story though.

 

If CO is any indication, many don't understand or remember what they're fleeing. We've got a lot of transplants here, where we continue drifting further and further in CA's direction.

 

Recently CARB tasked independent engineer firms to come up with ideas for a completely petroleum free vehicle. That would last about as long. Including bearings, joints, etc..... They were not happy with the responses of what could be used instead. Then they became very frustrated. Lol

 

Running from the policies which made them leave, then making the same choices in the new place. Insanity......

At their behest, no one will be allowed to make their own choices to buy and use boost like the drug addiction it is.

Not everywhere in CO has rules, just like TX. It’s only the big cities.

 

That's where all the CA people are going. Plus the cities make the rules for everyone else just because of population.
