Check engine light came on last night P0103 Mass air volume input circuit high. Looked at freeze data. 42.1 lb/ min while I was at 4700 RPM. Probably was pushing 9 or 10 psi when it happened. URD intake.

AFR's are reporting the same as they always throughout the RPM range and the sensor did not take in excessive water... I just chalk it as a glitch, I just cleared it and away I go.

I have nothing to add, except for some nerdy calculations and estimations.

    42.1 lb/min = 318 g/s

    318 g/s x 1.18 = ~375.24 hp @ flywheel

Very nice! I have actually seen more in the past before when doing a few WOT datalogs, so it's good to know where I am at for the most part. :D

    1 lb/min = ~7.5 hp @ crank.

I thought this was interesting, when Roost and I had my supercharger off, the orange intercooler seal fell off. So I ordered a new one from URD. Without the seal my boost was as high as 12psi but a steady 11.45. When I put the new seal in, the boost is now at a normal 10 to 10.25. This is with a 2.5 pulley.

That sounds like an indicator that the heat exchanger is a confirmed restriction inside of the blower, and the fact that the seal is not keeping the air from going only through the exchanger is allowing extra boost to build.

That is correct. Airflow will always take the path of least resistance. Any intercooler, radiator, heat exchanger will always have a measure of resistance greater than the air not having to go through something. It the price you pay when manipulating temperatures.

So what do you think, seal on or seal off? I have always slightly contemplated removing the seal of mine because I have read they go bad anyways.

I would remove the seal if I was spraying meth or fuel.

If it's easily reused I may pop it off to see what happens.

I think I’d rather leave the seal on so the air is forced to go through the cooler.

I’ve seen @Roostfactor ’s cooler temperature probe setup and the cooler is definitely lowering the temps of the air entering the intake manifold.

If you take the seal off, the air will take the easier path around the cooler and thus hotter air will be going in.

I’m not an expert on what the hamsters are doing inside the engine, but I think they’ll run and turn the wheel a lot faster if they’re not dead from heat stroke.

Damn Login, that is too funny. Just too much. It’s like hurricane weathermen getting busted.

Most seals start to fall apart with higher boost and time. I took my out about 5 years ago. It definitely is great in the winter

    Winter time = Boost season.

I think everyone here loves the cool temps, for vehicle purposes of course.
