There are all lot of post about owners going to a bigger tire including myself. I know that even the slightest tire size change can affect speedo output and with today's electronics it can effect wheels speed sensor input, traction control, anti-lock braking and other drivetrain features.
With that said my question is, there a module that needs to be updated to the new tire size and if so, which module is the tire size holder?

Nothing that NEEDS to be updated, but if you want your speedo correct, there is a company that makes a tuner for 2016-2018 (2019-2020s aren't available) Tacomas. I think it's Hypertech that makes it.

Cool. I haven't checked my speedo yet. Nice to know no update is necessary. Most all Chrylser, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles require and update usually found in the ABCM or DTCM. Thx.

The tire size change still affects all those things you listed, the truck doesn't have a way of changing the input to wheel speed sensors and such.

I went to 255/85s and actually like how it'll let me spin a little more wheel.

    ...stuff
It honestly depends on how much bigger you go. I had a second gen with stock tires on the TRD OR, and gps speed was always faster than speedo. Once I put the 265/76/16 on, the speedo and gps speed matched up. Part of me is convinced that Toyota designs the trucks for that tire size, but then installs the smaller tires during production for cost savings and increased mpg during testing.

Bigger tires give you more distance than the odometer reads so you can keep miles off the odometer, if you play that way.

Yeah, I know exactly what you are saying. I only went from a /70 to/75's. But still some vehicle systems are very sensitive. Being a 30 year auto tech I have experienced different concerns with tire size change. Thx for the input.
