A friend who liquidates estates is offering to sell me a 2004 Tacoma Prerunner Xcab, in excellent shape, with only about 17K miles on it, for $9000. But I'm content with my trusty old 1999 Tacoma Xcab automatic with 105K miles that still runs like new. And I like it's spacious bed for hauling stuff in my business, as compared to the Prerunner's significantly shorter bed. Would it be foolish to not buy the newer model for such a great price? I'd have to sell the one I have, for around $7000 or so, to swing the finances.
    Thanks for your input.

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
If they are both scabs..the bed is the same length. 6'

If the prerunner is a double cab it's a 5' bed.

That said, I'd never give up a 4wd for a 2wd. And 105k is nothing for these trucks. At 105k your up for a water pump and timing belt and some other maintenance stuff.

Is your truck 4x4? I mean if you have a 4x4 then screw but if not then go for it

    Bone stock. For now.
I'm with everyone else: if your truck is 4x4, keep it. Really, if you're happy with your truck, keep it.

That being said, I would say if you can come up with the cash to buy the 2004 for $9000, buy it and then sell it for profit. Where I'm from, I could sell a 2004 with 17k for at least $14,000. Maybe $17,000 for the right person.

Thanks guys, for you input. I'll likely keep the one I have, though I may buy the other one and sell it fast.
