would it fit 2nd gen? I’ll ask them

Product was developed for 3rd gen
Looks better than the stock fake chrome one

I’ve seen people interchange 2nd and 3rd gen manual shift knobs
And the rod they’re on looks the same
Toyota part sites say the assemblies are a different part number but that could be due to a different socket cup at the bottom

But the guy makes metal shift knobs so who knows maybe he can also make a metal one that could cost more

i might mail him my shift boot to measure to develop a 2nd gen model

or someone else’s whole shifter if I can find anyone with a spare to borrow

 

What I did there was just drill out a piece of UMHW so it was tight fitting on the shaft then installed the console. It’s interference fit and I didn’t pay a dime since it was left over material. It’s keeps the shift boot up pretty well. No need to pay for something like that.

 

I just put a tie rod end boot over the chrome plastic piece that holds the leather up. I’m pretty sure it’s a 3/8 boot. Super cheap and easy. Doesn’t slide around the shaft either it’s a pretty nice fit.

 

The point is to get rid of the chrome one
