I got to get everyone’s advice again. I’m wanting to improve my stereo system and I had seen a outfit on Tacoma Beast for $1700.00. I don’t really care about the base speaker in the back seat but I will get it if it will complete the system. I have the Entune 2 system in my truck and I want to keep the head. Is this the way to go ??? I appreciate everyone’s advice it’s been years since I messed with anything like this

Its your truck. Do what you want. But $1400 for a sound set up? Heck no. Buy some kickers for the front and rear. Also the Subaru tweeters and you are good to go. All in, you will be in about $400?

But can i ask what is wrong with your stock sound system?
I have the JBL Etune sound system in my truck and was thinking to upgrade, because that is what most people do. But then i thought about it and the stock sound system sounds pretty dang good. So ill keep my $400 and use it somewhere else.

It’s missing the clarity the high notes. I don’t know how to explain it but the best way I can describe it you can’t hear the symbols or instruments. That’s the only way I can describe it

Replace components by steps and see how you like it.

Start with the tweeters since you're looking for clarity up high. Then replace the 6x9 door speakers up front. If you're wanting more power and punch after that, add a 4 channel amplifier.

I'm not going to bother with the rear speakers since I've read several times on here that the factory head unit doesn't send much signal to the rears and not much happens with replacing them. Add a sub if you want to fill in the low end.

This would be the smartest way instead of ordering that system on Tacoma Beast for $1700.00

I put OEM Audio upgrade in my 2017 access cab and IIRC the price was around 1800. The sound is much better than factory and of course louder along with the fact the system is complete plug in with no wire molestation. The factory help/support during installation was great. After the installation though the company has left me hanging. At near max on the volume the there is a horrible cracking noise. Keep it turned down from that point it's still loud and better sound quality than factory.
Would I go this route again? Absolutely not.
I'd try some speaker upgrades first.

I hope I don’t have to cut and splice. I’d like to find some top end speakers that I can plug up and put back in

I replaced all the speakers in my 2020 sr5 with kicker speakers. I recommend the CS or DS series from Crutchfield. I ended up getting the DS because of supply. Then add the Subaru kicker tweaters.
Then if you want more power like I did get the Alpine power-pack universal Amp that fits in behind the factory radio. There is a a wire harness you can get on ebay to wire it in so you don't have the cut the factory speaker harnesses

Mine sounds great and I'm very happy with it for under 600 dollars spent.

+1 for crutchfield. Very simple to DYI. Added the tweets for even better sound and had the JL sub put in with 500w amp. Even with stock head unit I am very, very happy.

Crutchfield is my go to for car audio. Been buying from them since I I got my 1st beater car in 1992. For the installation instructions and phone support they offer for as long as you own the product they are hard to beat.

My one complaint, I bought a high end JBL sub for the house. It has an amp yet really doesn't rock. When I called the support line the gal gave me the exact spiel thats in the directions word for word. I was like,"Your reading me the directions and have no idea how this things work?!" She then proceeded to read me the second half of the directions lol.

Sounds like a problem with the sub and they just didn't understand you on the issue. I'd call back and talk to someone else or deal with JBL.
I've never had an issue with them. I've bought home equipment from them too and Been happy
