I am currently running the full OME suspension on my '15 DCLB - Nitrocharger Soft shocks, 887 coils, Dakar leaf pack with AAL. Full skids, sliders, plate bumpers front and rear w/swingout tire carrier, RTT, low profile bed rack, Prinsu roofrack, adding a winch next week.

My question is: Would I notice a huge improvement over the current setup by swapping the OME shocks with 2.5" Kings (regular piggy back, no clickers) and 700# coils? Is there another shock in the same price range that would hold up better to salty New England winters?

    Edit: Maybe OME BP51 shocks?

Anyone know where I can get just the BP51s? Everywhere I've looked so far sells them as a full suspension kit with Dakars, etc. and I don't need all the other stuff.

Emailed them since they don't show on the website, I'm sure Marie can do it if anyone can.

    It's a secret
I think a scientific test would help you figure out if you would feel a difference...you will need:

10 Tacomas with your current suspension set up.
1 Tacoma with your proposed suspention set up.

"Blind" test drive all 11 and mark which one felt different to you as you drove them.

Realize I'm late to the discussion here, but if you are still looking I'd talk to @HeadStrong Off-Road about Elka as well.

I’ve had both Kings and OME, Kings rode better in the dirt but on road not much different. IMHO unless your doing miles of washboard road not worth it. Regular traills both are about the same aired down.

If you decide with kings get them custom valved that’ll make it worthwhile I’d give accutune a shout.

Saw your build clean truck but didn’t see anything about gears. That’d be money well spent.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
Check out Elka, they have a good history and are made in Quebec, and they definitely have winter.

Gears will come. I still tow a 20' travel trailer and am on 32"s right now so they are a lower priority, but I'm looking to replace the Taco with a Tundra for towing duty, and when that happens all bets are off. I'll be throwing in lockers, a re-gear, BMC, 35"s, etc...

Badass!! If you’re gonna go full derp I’d wait and either do a +2 LT or uniball lcas w/kings to get the full effect and keep what you’ve got.
Either way you won’t be disappointed with them.

Stick with the OME lift man- you're going to throw a lot of money on Kings for a minimal difference in road performance (sorry everyone just my opinion) and especially in the salty winters up there the Kings will look like your OME suspension does after 2-3 years. Just use the shit out of what you have and get that Tundra you want eventually.
