I’ve got an opportunity to upgrade from my amber Pros to the amber maxes with backlight for just $250. Or should I just stick with the pros?(They are stupidly bright as is.)

    Worth the upgrade?

Anyone make the upgrade have input/pics?

Any downsides to the Maxes vs Pros?

Speaking as one who did that exact upgrade, here's my thoughts. The biggest difference I noticed was the more disciplined / tighter vertical beam pattern on the Max. The Pros have somewhat of a "fuzzy" cutoff top and bottom. This leads to some light bleed upward that both illuminates overhead signs (a good thing) and occasionally pisses off oncoming drivers (a bad thing) - even when properly aimed. I actually get flashed much, much less with the Max. The light output on the Max is more intense within the cutoff, so the light on the ground is slightly, but noticeably brighter.

The big question is whether or not the Max is $250 brighter. From a pure dollars and sense standpoint, I don't think so. Would I do it all over again if I had a chance - oh yea. And dealing with Colton at Hotshot Offroad is always a pleasure.

Great explanation. I've considered upgrading one of our vehicles with Pro yellows to the Max yellow. But I have been hesitant just based off the price. If the Max with backlite feature is truly brighter than the OG Max, then that might be what puts me over the edge and just get them. Though I really don't care about the backlite feature so much, but I do care about the performance!! I guess we'll see...
