Upgrade your ScanGauge II

Just FYI for anyone that has this nice scanner - ScanGauge II. For $25 you can send in your unit and they will upgrade the firmware to the latest version (4.13). Check your version (mine was 4.02), and if you like send in your old unit, along with $25 and their upgrade form, and voila - new firmware. My SG II has been a fantastic tool, used it a lot.

Any noticeable difference?

 

It is interesting that it does not say why I should do this.

I would also be curious to know if the currently programmed XGuage codes get erased or have to be re-entered after the firmware update.

 

I haven't done it yet, but being an old school IT guy, I tend to always lean towards software updates and firmware updates, as any errors or potential problems tend to be corrected. Of course, new ones may be introduced And any time you have the first of a kind, well, you know. 4.02 was the first firmware with performance monitoring, so they may have tweaked that a bit. No idea about the XGauge thing, but I bet they would answer a mail
