So just looking for some info/first-hand experience from some of you who may have upgraded Engine or Trans mounts on your 2nd Gens and get some input. I've found multiple options for Engine mounts and only one for the Trans so far, prices are about what I would expect. Coming from the car tuning world, motor mounts and trans mounts always helped tighten up everything in the drivetrain and get the power to the ground way more efficiently. Even adding some WHP/WTQ to a modified engine. I think I'm safe to assume the same could be said on a truck with upgraded mounts, but would like to hear from some of you who have them. Worth the money or not, any performance gains to be had, and power delivery more on point?

    No first hand experience.

Solid Off road for motor/trans mounts.

    Martec also sells motor mounts.

Haven't heard anything negative about either. Market segment is probably too small to even have a 3rd vendor offer something similar.

The whole thread I linked is filled with people and their opinions on the solid off road motor mounts.

So my truck is an auto and 4wd, I was considering maybe only doing the upgraded trans mount for now since all the power to the wheels is mostly channeled directly through that. The mount looks pretty beefy too so I'd imagine that'd lock it down pretty good. Then again, I know it's usually best to do both engine and trans mounts together.

Don't do trans mounts without the solid engine mounts being installed first. It's a big no no

You'll find that this is not reco'ed.

Solid engine mount only = OK
Solid engine + solid trans mount = OK
Solid trans mount and no solid engine mount = not ok

Ok, next question would be are the Martecs up to snuff if paired with the solid trans mount from Solid Offroad? I like the Martecs cause they are cheaper and also use some poly in the mount. I don't have the coin for solid motor mounts plus the trans too, but could swing just the trans mount probably with the Martecs.

The reason you don’t ”solid” mount trans without engine first is that you risk breaking bell housing from motor torquing on it.

That should be fine. FWIW, the “solid” motor mounts as well as trans mounts from @Bonzen still use poly bushings. You wouldn’t want to completely solid mount the drive drain or it will crack the frame right quick

Haha ok, I didn't see any in the pics of their mounts so I wasn't sure. But yeah, that makes sense. Would not want to do that.

FYI, the martec mounts are just a half mount that replaces the rubber puck to frame perch. I'm sure that is fine in most situations. However mine are fully fabricated mounts from engine block to frame, thats why they are more expensive.

As stated, solid mounting a transmission without having the engine solid mounted is a disaster waiting to happen. The other way around is ok.

For all intents and purposes, solid mount means a stronger, longer lasting hard durometer polyurethane bushing. All my kits use that.

The only time you would actually use a steel on steel mount or maybe an aluminum bushing is a full tube chassis/fully caged off road vehicle.

Let me know if you have any questions!

... Mr. Solid Offroad has spoken. Knowledge is power.

The customer having the option to pick two different mounts (vendors) like that is awesome. It's like steak. USDA Prime or USDA Choice. Choice is yours.

Bonzen, do you have any pics of your mounts in bronze by chance? On your site, the 1st gen Tundra/Sequoia 4.7 pics look like they could be copper or bronze. Could you confirm which? Thanks

FYI I realized the website didn't have the actual colors designated on the galley pictures. I have updated that.

If you are considering buying the 4.0 motor mount and 4wd trans mount kit, send me a DM:thumbsup:
